I studied art at Ohio State University and received a B.F.A degree in 1973. I was employed by The Ohio State University IT group from 1975 until 2009, at which time I retired with 34 years of service. I continued my passion with art through this job career, but since retirement am able to devote more time to it.

I work mainly in oil and acrylic; my subjects are landscapes, seascapes, and wildlife, often focusing on the natural scenes near the home in Dublin, Ohio I share with my wife, Joanne Blum.   I also am a musician, performing guitar and vocal duets with Joanne and other area musicians. Joanne is the pastor of a Unity church in Delaware, Ohio, where we frequently provide music for the service. Joanne and I have produced three CDs, Love Is Enough, Even More Love, and Love Is.

In 2009, Joanne and I founded a non-profit musical ministry we called In Spirit Ministries. Our focus is fostering the wholeness of all through the healing power of music. We host special music events with our multi-piece band, The In Spirit Band, where those attending can join in song and share in a collective musical bliss. Our ministry also provides music for nursing homes, memory care units, and retirement facilities.

In my art, as with our musical ministry, I try to focus on the wonderment of the world we inhabit, whether that wonder and awe shows itself as a pond on a warm, still summer day, or as the chords and lyrics to a piece of music that transports us to a higher place. My focus is on nature, and our oneness with it.
